Article: 'IAC' PD clarifies controversy over idols being completely edited out "The producers did not edit out certain idols intentionally"
Source: Newsen via Nate
There seemed to be drama over 150 teams being recorded over a 20 hour period but complete matches and idol groups being edited out of the final 2 hour special (specifically C-Clown, Dal Shabet and T-ara).
The PD explained that they had to fit all of the footage into a 2.5 hour time limit so they left out matches that weren't fun or had a huge difference in score according to their own judgement. They assured that they did not edit out idols purely for the sake of not being popular/not having big fandoms.
1. [+411, -10] Not really all that disappointed about T-ara being edited out
2. [+383, -8] Newsen, did Kwang Soo ask you to manipulate the public into thinking that T-ara being edited out was controversial?? Look at them trying to create a controversy that never happened ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
3. [+277, -10] T-ara's fault
4. [+46, -3] It's because of T-ara that the other idols were edited out with them. If you're going to hate on anyone, hate on T-ara. They're the ones that were in the wrong and got edited out for not apologizing.
5. [+38, -3] Who would want to watch T-ara over the Lunar New Year?? And I saw another article about Soyeon talking crap about wanting to shoot WGM with Psy... Obviously they were edited out because they couldn't air the booing from the audience ㅋ
6. [+35, -5] Obviously edited out for a reason ㅋㅋㅋ So why insist on coming out?
7. [+35, -2] What??? I thought the editing was superb ㅋㅋㅋ
8. [+34, -2] Thanks for editing out T-ara ^^
9. [+32, -2] More than anything, I wanted to praise them for editing out T-ara
10. [+27, -4] They edited out T-ara for the comfort of the viewers... Why is that a problem?
11. [+25, -2] Kwang Soo, there is no controversy. No one even cared that T-ara was edited out.
12. [+21, -3] Newsen needs to change their name to Kwangsooen.

Yeah... this is a bit too much.
ReplyDeleteI know this is off topic but i don't think the idols get the recognition being in this show. Except Bora, people already know her sports skills but 20 hours recording but you only appeared for less than 5 mins?
ReplyDeleteWow let's just blame it all on T-ara shall we? North Korea must've did that nuclear testing because of T-ara too. I seriously hope they'd stop soon
ReplyDeleteyeah, i'm sure we all believe that wasn't intentional
ReplyDeleteplease
netizens are obsessed with t-ara
ReplyDeleteisnt disappointing for some idols to go and film for 22 hours and find out they got completely cut out? idk, but the editing for the entire program was so rushed (some of the events i didn't even know what was happening). Also it didn't even matter they had to fit it into a 2.5 hour time slot, they should have planned out the entire schedule more, less events + less idols and the program would have been better.
ReplyDeleteI think netizens loves T-ara, they can't stop talking about them.
ReplyDeleteDid those groups at least still get paid for participating?
ReplyDeletepoor c clown
ReplyDeleteWow knetizens are so fucked up! They constantly bringing up t-ara,makes me wonder whether they really hate them or actually grow affections to the girls. LOL.
Deletetoo bad for being editted out. you need to fall flat on your face or dig your nose in order to get air time, not just stand around and be pretty.
ReplyDeleteT-ara, I basically wouldnt care less with your bs anymore. Poor Dal Shabet and C-Clown. And IAC is basically fucked up, whether the artist is popular, a rookie or the ones with scandals, it should be fair and square.
ReplyDeleteOh,Lord...Not again...When they will ever stop???They won't,do they?T-ara spent their 22 hours time for NOTHING and even getting bashed on.I'm seriously feeling like hugging each of them. This is way too much guys.
ReplyDeleteEarthquake in Japan(Japan is a place where earthquake comes frequently) and for sure Knetizens will blame T-ara.. Its the only thing left for knetizens to do.
ReplyDeleteThere was an article that the only ones viewing IAC are gonna be fangirls of biases and normal people are just gonna change the channel because it was aired on Chuseok & people would prefer to watch some family stuff together. These top comments seem to show they watch IAC. Thus they might be written by fangirls who watch IAC or normal people just riding on the T-ara hate or normal people that are hypocrites...BOOM!
ReplyDeleteRegardless of how much they hate T-ara, they should put themselves in the position of them. Imagine spending 22 hours trapped in the stadium and after all that you don't even get any recognition for all the hard work you put in.
ReplyDeleteHELLO. IT'S NEWSEN.
ReplyDeleteNo one expected this article to be written?
Really?
They got OWNED! :D I laughed so hard when I saw the show, and the editing was for the greater good, the PD knew he will get complaints if he shows the bullies who are trying to crawl back on screen at all costs.
ReplyDeleteNo, it's karma. :D they need more determinations to be more entertaining, so they won't be edited out. Maybe if they had a wardrobe malfunction that would make it into the show.
ReplyDeleteBooooo............LAME....
ReplyDeletek-netizen are really scary, korea maybe rich in many aspects but sometimes poor country are much better when it comes to attitude, k-netizen's behavior are really disturbing,, thats why i not really surprise when i heard alot of bullying incident is severe in school or other places there..
ReplyDeleteThey edited them out, because no half decent South Korean would wanna see these bullying bitches.
ReplyDeletepoor them
ReplyDeleteExactly. I'd say they're still secretly fans if they spend all this time hating on them. Watch as soon as an actual T-ara member dies or commits suicide, the same netizens will go around acting like they never said a thing and blame others for it.
ReplyDeleteFor someone who hates T-ara, you sure do care about them a lot. Like seriously, every T-ara article you're commenting. Don't say you don't care either because if you really didn't, you wouldn't be on almost every single T-ara article here or on allkpop.
ReplyDeleteIf EJ can calmly express his opinions about T-ara, why can't you?
IAC has become more like a treat for the fans to see their favs interact with other groups. But, if it's any consolation, right after the show aired, a bunch of rookie idols were top searches on Naver; Tao from EXO and Noh Jihoon, among others.
ReplyDeleteSome idiots think we are the same person, I still laugh about that. And for the reason why, well we are all different, and express ourself differently.
ReplyDeleteKwang Soo? Not the same one I'm thinking of I assume..?
ReplyDeleteSure it sucks but it's the same for any variety show. You edit out the nugus and the unfunny parts.
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry about Dal Shabet..My girls are too flop
ReplyDeleteIf they edited people out based on popularity, only two or three groups would have been shown. They were only edited out of one race anyway.
ReplyDeleteSo were there really people who spent 20+ hours filming this shit and still didn't make it to the 2,5 hour time slot? I would be kinda pissed at this point if it was me. If I was an idol I wouldn't even bother being serious, or having my make up and hair done and brought a pillow with me. Could at least sleep.
ReplyDeleteStupid explanation. Especially the part where they did not edit the idols out according to them being not popular. Netizens are already going crazy over T-ara, blaming them for every single shit, even if it does not link. I guess soon enough there will be idiots blaming T-ara for not having enough toilet paper to use when they are shitting.
ReplyDeleteYou cant expect a troll to be reasonable as EJ. They are different. One is a neutral netizen who doesnt like T-ara but still comment about them reasonably while the other one is TROLL.
ReplyDeleteAnd I feel your pain. T-ara, although it isn't fair to be edited out after being forced to film that shit for 22 hours, this stupid event isn't gonna affect T-ara at all. I laughed as equally hard when I see you getting all excited to see your oppas and noonas like a deprived kid longing for love. Anyway, T-ara couldn't care less about this useless event.
ReplyDeleteKarma in your face kiddo. Only ignorant little babies says karma, just like your epic failed group of "Korean wannabe friends" along with you. Love how loyal you are to T-ara!
ReplyDeleteNu'est was also all edited.
ReplyDeleteI'm not even going to talk about T-ara, I'm bored by all this hate towards them.
Instead I'm going to hate on MBC. Seriously, this year's IAC was so poorly edited that I wanted to cry. They even completly cut out the fast walking competition! And they say they cut out all scenes which weren't funny to make it into 2,5 hour. So they found time for showing almost all girls 70m runs as well as archery and couldn't find place for some awesome moments like last-forever Zelo's and Woohyun's paper-rock-scissors game before archery. What the hell mbc, what the hell.
They should have thought about that before making them film for 22 hours ¬¬....how can 22hr can be crammed in 2hrs.
ReplyDeleteThe fancams on YT are always much more interesting anyway... lol
ReplyDeleteI hope they will stop making these shows, idols get enough injuries on stage and in car accidents, there is no need to add sports injuries to the list...
ReplyDelete.
ReplyDeleteIt always happen.. And then they have those psychos who make fun of someone's death
ReplyDeleteUh, I'd rather see the women being awesome in sports than some stupid rock-paper-scissors game, wtf? I agree with the walking competition, though.
ReplyDeletethey still make more money than other groups there (boyfriend etc)
ReplyDeleteEDITED OUT CAUSE IT WASN'T FUN? That's so professional of them.
ReplyDeletepoor c-clown D:
ReplyDeletethe editing isn't the problem, it's the time they took to film! I mean, if you had 3-4 hours of footage and edited out to 2.5 hours, ok kewl. But 19+ hours? Why would you even need that much?
ReplyDeletethat's it i admit am hooked on T-ara now ...... i was never interested in them ..... but after the controversy i checked them out ......and they were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G .....from now on am a new Queen's my ultimate bias is Jiyeon ......the girl has the charm.
ReplyDeleteAnd Dal Shabet.
ReplyDeleteIt might be karma, however, the way that the netizens are treating them is far worse than what T-ara did to Hwayoung (on SNS). I am in no way shielding them, however, bullying back the bully isn't exactly the rightful consequence.
ReplyDeleteThank You IAC :)
ReplyDeleteOh NEWSEN. :D I see what you did there.
ReplyDeleteIts actually fun to see K-Net bashing on T-ara, I mean..the entertainment world will be sooo boring if everyone is okay..no controversies..no scandals.. Its part and parcel of the entertainment world plus, T-ara will have more fans than haters..All artist will.
ReplyDeleteEven during the early days of T-ara, Hyomin and Sunhwa (of Secret) gets edited out from Invincible Youth and they often labeled as "edited out duo". So yes, idol shows tend to be that way...
ReplyDeleteI read some comments: They got paid very little.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely not the giraffe, but the CCM CEO Kim Kwang Soo.
ReplyDeleteThanks for staying obsessed with t-ara netizens and keeping them as the most talked about group in K-pop even though they've barely had activities in months.
ReplyDeleteThe power of slay-ara... <3
I thought the sixth picture was showing us two middle fingers, lol..
ReplyDeletei really think they edited tou t-ara bcse of the audience there. i think thay might get some 'boo' from the audience in the stadium.
ReplyDelete150 teams being recorded over a 20 hour period? sounded more like a waste bin than a show..
ReplyDeleteLMAO
ReplyDeleteeverything is t-ara's fault xD
ReplyDeleteYeah right. They specifically left out those groups. C Clown may not be that popular but why edit them?
ReplyDeletethe fancam is much better
ReplyDeleteI think k-netizen wont stop bash T-ara. They hate T-ara and they said all things are T-ara's fault. I thinks K-netizen are still childish. this isn't T-ara's fault ! ok ? I still believe T-ara. I'm disappointed about K-netizen
ReplyDeletewell...t-ara was the one who made the decision to have their comeback when the situation has not died down yet, every action has its consequences
ReplyDelete
